Bell notch up first sales to Scottish plant hire firm

Bell Equipment UK have sold a fleet of eight articulated dumptrucks to one of Scotland’s biggest plant hire companies, Glasgow-based AB 2000.

AB 2000, who have a fleet of around 150 machines, some 15% of which are dumptrucks, have recently taken delivery of six Bell B30D trucks and two B25D trucks after placing their first ever order with the Midlands-based firm.

Bell, who claim UK market leadership in the supply of 40-tonne ADTs, say the move reflects a recent upsurge in interest in their range of ADTs and excavators, particularly in the Scottish marketplace.

George Graham, Scottish regional sales manager for Bell Equipment UK, said: ‘This is a major breakthrough for Bell. I was hoping to sell at least one truck to AB 2000 but it was quite an achievement to sell eight. I now expect to see others following AB 2000’s lead.’

Commenting on the new machines, Bill Marsh, general manager of AB 2000, said he had operated Bell trucks in a previous company and always found them to be very reliable and cost-effective. ‘They always gave us good production figures and availability. Now we are keen to see how they operate within AB 2000’s marketplace.’
