Atlas introduce remote monitoring

Atlas Copco have introduced Cosmos, an electronic remote global-management system that helps customers to reduce their costs of compressor ownership.

Cosmos provides information on service schedules, operational history, utilization data and the location of the machine. This allows technicians to arrive at the right location at the right time as well as ensuring timely and accurate pick-up, more up-time, efficient job costing, improved invoicing and evaluation of the appropriate machines and fleets for each application.

Although Cosmos is not an anti-theft system, it is a secure system with protected access, allowing machines to be located at any time, creating added value for customer logistics and service planning.

The system also allows Atlas Copco to offer their customers an improved after-market service as it is designed for global operation with complete support for all Atlas Copco systems. To provide real-time communication and extensive coverage, Cosmos uses the GPRS/CDMA network, which supplies accurate and up-to-date information and ensures that equipment can be tracked at all times and at any location.
