Atlas Copco extend DrillAir line-up

ATLAS Copco have extended their recently introduced DrillAir range of compressors with the launch of a new, energy-efficient, 35 bar (510 psi) model that offers greater air volumes at higher air pressures.

The new DrillAir 35 (DrillAir 510) features four variants – XRYS 557 and XRYS 577 (XRYS 1220 CD 7 and XRYS 1260 CD 7) offering an increased free-air delivery of 33.0–34.2 cu m/min (1,165–1,207 cu ft/min).

The new compressor also introduces the patent pending DrillAirXpert variable regulating system, which ensures full control of pressure and flow (only available on the XRYS 577 (XRYS 1260 CD 7) model).

According to Atlas Copco, DrillAirXpert offers an improved alternative to competitors’ ‘combo’ systems by allowing fully flexible pressure and flow regulation. The system provides the exact pressure required, when needed, between 22–35 bar (300–510 psi), and can also be set to provide a fully regulated flow output of up to 673 litres/s (1,500 cu ft/min).

Featuring the newly redesigned and energy-efficient DrillAir screw element, the DrillAir 35 (DrillAir 510) is powered by a heavy-duty Caterpillar C18 Acert T3 diesel engine, rated at 429kW (575hp), and is available in skid-mounted, support-mounted, and towable tandem or wagon versions.

Other new improvements include: a standard sliding-valve air outlet for improved safety at higher pressures; an optional internal night light; a standard battery switch with lock-out facility; a standard crankcase breather filter; and an optional remote control system (XRYS 557 (XRYS 1220 CD 7) model only), capable of operating the machine from a distance of up to 200m (600ft).
