Atlas Copco acquire SME drilling firm

ATLAS Copco Construction & Mining Ltd have confirmed the acquisition of H&F Drilling Supplies Ltd, who have 20 employees and provide bespoke solutions for a wide range of drilling applications encompassing in-house manufacturing facilities for casing and adaptors.

Kevin Prince, general manager of Atlas Copco Construction & Mining, said: ‘With a strong service culture and emphasis on customer relationships, H&F Drilling Supplies are a good fit for the Atlas Copco group. The acquisition provides the possibility to enhance our product portfolio and presence in the drilling sector, creating increased sales opportunities across the UK.’

Established in 1986, H&F Drilling Supplies, prior to the takeover, were a distributor for Atlas Copco in the UK. The former owner, John Henderson, and managing director, Kevin Mallin, have both agreed to continue with the company on a consultancy basis.

H&F Drilling Supplies will operate within Atlas Copco’s ‘Construction & Mining Technique Business Area’. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
