Y-bearing units from SKF

SKF’s new Y-bearing units consists of a bearing (a single row, deep-groove ball bearing sealed at both sides with a sphered outside curved surface) and a bearing housing made of cast iron or pressed steel with a sphered bore.

The units are based on proven deep-groove ball bearings with bore tolerances allowing easy mounting on shafts. They can compensate for initial errors of alignment between the shaft and housing of up to ±5º during mounting and are capable of working at shaft speeds of up to 100 rev/min. An extended inner ring, with holes to accept set screws, allows simple shaft attachment for 12–100mm diameter shafts.

All Y-bearing units are equipped with rubbing seals for full protection under extreme operating conditions. They are filled with a lithium-based grease of NLG1 consistency 3, which has corrosion-inhibiting properties and is suitable for operating in temperatures between –30ºC and +110ºC.
