Wear protection brochures from Kingfisher Industrial

Industry-specific brochures highlight cost-saving and productivity benefits of employing wear protection on plant and equipment

Wear-protection specialists, Kingfisher Industrial, are helping process companies across all industry sectors to get more life from their plant and equipment, reduce maintenance and improve productivity.

The company has published a series of industry-specific brochures that highlight the benefits of employing wear protection to new or existing plant, giving users 10-year or even 20-year life from their installations.

The first three publications in the series are specific to the power generation, cement and iron manufacturing sectors, with further publications covering the quarrying, wood processing and bulk cargo handling sectors to follow.

Each publication provides an easy-to-assimilate graphic of the relevant process in each industry sector, breaking down the process to show key equipment used and outlining how wear protection can improve its life performance.

This is followed by a description of the value-added benefits of using wear protection, outlining how the process of coating or lining plant and equipment, with ceramics, metallics or polymers can extend the life of key equipment such as cyclones, valves, bunkers, pipework, chutes etc. The benefits of providing protection are evidenced by research by Kingfisher that shows users of their wear-protection systems benefit by a factor of five times their initial outlay, with many installations providing wear life of up to 20-years following appropriate wear treatment.

John Connolly, managing director of Kingfisher Industrial, commented: ‘We have produced these series of brochures to educate UK process industries to the strategic cost-saving benefits of wear protection of plant and equipment. Wear protection is critically under-employed in the UK, and this is costing British industry millions of pounds annually in unnecessary maintenance costs and lost production time.’
