Volvo tipper delivered to Berkshire contractor
R.J. Blundy & Son Ltd have taken delivery of a new Volvo FH-540. Equipped with I-Shift, Volvo’s automated gear-changing system, the eight-wheel tipper is the latest in a long line of Volvos for the Berkshire aggregate and asphalt contractors.
The new truck is fitted with a sleeper cab, including the new recline bunk with tilting backrest, and is fitted with the Driver Plus package, featuring leather trim, swivel passenger seat and fridge.
The tipper’s insulated body is by PPG and carries an Easysheet Raptor sheeting system, with tipping gear by Edbro. The truck will be used for asphalt deliveries, running between a plant outside Reading and various road sites across the region.
R.J. Blundy & Son have their own workshop, which will handle repair and maintenance when the two-year Volvo standard package expires, but parts and support will continue to be provided by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre, London, largely from their Basingstoke dealer point.
