Volvo CE appoint new utility equipment dealer

Cambrian Plant Sales selected as dealer for South Wales

Cambrian Plant Sales Ltd, based in Cardiff, have been appointed as Volvo Construction Equipment’s utility equipment dealer for South Wales with immediate effect.

Cambrian Plant Sales are headed up by managing director Mike Donnelly who has worked within the construction equipment industry for over 40 years in various capacities and establishing the business back in 1974.

The company will be responsible for the sales and after-market support for the full range of Volvo utility equipment covering the southern counties of Wales from the river Severn to Swansea in the west and a large proportion of Powys. This includes compact excavators from 1.5-8.8 tonnes; compact wheeled loaders up to 1.0m³ capacity; backhoe loaders and small tandem vibratory rollers.

Cambrian Plant Sales have their headquarters in Cardiff, complete with showroom, comprehensive parts store, workshops and ample yard space and is situated for ease of access to all major routes such as the M4 corridor and A470. The company will also be able to tap into the resources of Volvo CE’s local customer support centre based at Treforest, which will ensure that Cambrian’s customer base have the best after-sales support from any distributor in the region.     

One of the oldest established plant sales companies in Wales, Mike Donnelly started his business marketing Montabert breakers, establishing Cambrian Plant Sales as a leading supplier in their class. As his business developed, the company diversified into supplying parts for non-operated equipment both in the UK and overseas. This still continues and has been enhanced with the addition of other franchises such as NC Dumpers, Compair compressors, Stihl, Greenmec Woodchippers, Dynapac / Atlas Copco products and as agents for several leading engine producers for small plant and equipment.
