Two new websites for Tarmac

TARMAC have launched two new websites designed to better reflect the company’s UK structure of and to allow its two distinct divisions –– Tarmac Ltd and Tarmac Building Products Ltd –– to deliver more targeted information and services.

The Tarmac Ltd website (www.tarmac.co.uk) focuses on the company’s quarrying, concrete, cement, lime and National Contracting businesses, while the Tarmac Building Product Ltd site (www.tarmacbuildingproducts.co.uk) showcases products such as precast concrete, blocks, mortar, industrial sands and bagged aggregates.

The two new sites, which were designed and created by Mando Group, amalgamate more than 20 separate microsites that made up Tarmac’s previous website, making it easier and simpler for users to navigate and search the new pages.

Development of the websites was informed by the findings of a series of workshops involving Tarmac employees and groups of key site users, such as customers, local government representatives, suppliers, local community groups and prospective employees.

‘As a company, we acknowledged the need to offer customers and other web user a much more slick, user-friendly experience and Mando Group delivered against this brief,’ explained Adrian Pickett, senior marketing manager with Tarmac Ltd.

‘Our new sites are a major improvement. They not only offer greater clarity around the services and products that our two divisions offer, but will help give us a greater commercial edge in a competitive market.’

Angela Griffin, marketing manager with Tarmac Building Products Ltd, added: ‘We’re seeing increasing volumes of web traffic, so it’s important that we respond to this by having the best possible online presence and a more commercially focused, easy-to-use site.’
