Titanium exhaust wrap

Design Engineering have introduced a new and what they believe is a improved exhaust wrap – the Titanium Wrap (pictured right) – currently available from Agriemach.

Constructed from pulverized lava rock, extruded into fibres and then woven into a tight weave, the product is said to have titanium-like strength and toughness.
The Titanium Wrap’s improvement in thermal protection helps reduce under-bonnet temperatures resulting in cooler air intake, as less heat in the engine reduces the chances of ‘heat soak’ conditions on vital components.

According to Agriemach, typical glass fibre is rated at a maximum heat of 1,200°F, while the new exhaust wrap is capable of handling direct continuous heat up to 1,800°F and radiant heat up to 2,800°F.

As the Titanium Wrap is pliable, there is no need to wet it when wrapping manifolds or pipes. Available in 1in or 2in widths from 15ft to 50ft lengths, the wrap will not shrink and, owing to its material structure, will be more resistant to temperature and vibration breakdown, abrasions and hot oil spills.
