TG Concrete launch new self-compacting product

Self-compacting concrete

Latest concrete solution offers easier installation and helps reduce health and safety hazards

SHROPSHIRE-based TG Concrete, part of the Tudor Griffiths Group, have unveiled a new self-compacting concrete product. And the latest addition to the company’s growing catalogue of products has already attracted a great deal of interest in the construction market.

Dave Morris, general manager of TG Concrete, said one of the product’s first installations was successfully completed on a project in conjunction with Wrexham-based Knights Construction Group.

‘We supplied the new self-compacting concrete for the job and everyone has been extremely impressed with the impeccable finish,’ he commented. ‘The concrete can be poured quickly and it flows and spreads effortlessly to deliver an exceptional result.

‘This means the process is much quicker – but it’s not just time and money that can be saved. This form of installation reduces noise and eliminates vibration, so conditions on site are vastly improved too.’

Thanks to the self-compacting concrete’s easier installation process, larger pour sizes were achieved with reduced labour and plant requirements which, in turn, help minimize health and safety hazards.

‘Because no vibration is needed as the concrete is self-compacting, it also eliminates the risk of vibration white finger for employees,’ Mr Morris said.

The concrete solution can be used in most construction jobs and is ideal on projects with difficult access or where longer pumping distances prove to be an issue.

Mr Morris added: ‘We’ve ensured our self-compact concrete incorporates BBA-approved fibres in order to meet the new NHBC regulations, so it really is using the very latest technology. We’re looking forward to working with customers far and wide as there is practically no limit to the kind of projects where the concrete could be used.’
