Terex Finlay introduce the J-1170

Terex Finlay J-1170 primary mobile jaw crusher

New primary mobile jaw crusher for construction and demolition debris recycling or quarry applications

THE new high-performance Terex Finlay J-1170 primary mobile jaw crusher is built around the renowned Terex 1,100mm x 700mm (44in x 28in) jaw crusher with its proven track record in recycling, aggregate production and mining applications.

The jaw chamber, which provides excellent material reduction and product sizing when processing blasted quarry rock and ore material, is also available with optional hydraulic release for use when crushing construction and demolition debris. This release system has automatic overload protection to prevent damage from uncrushable items in the feed material.

In addition, the jaw chamber’s hydrostatic transmission offers operators reversible operation in the event of a blockage and also provides variable chamber speed to suit specific applications. The crusher also features hydraulically assisted closed-side setting adjustment, allowing setting changes to be made in a matter of minutes.

Powered by either a Tier 3/Stage 3A Caterpillar C9 261kW (350hp) engine or a Tier 4i Scania DC9 70A 257kW (350hp) unit, the machine is equipped with a heavy-duty variable-speed vibrating grizzly feeder (VGF) with integrated pre-screen, which provides an aggressive action for efficient separation of fine materials.

The variable-speed VGF also ensures continuous choke feeding of the crushing chamber for optimal productivity, while material from the pre-screen can be diverted to stockpile via the onboard by-pass conveyor, or can join the crushed product on the main belt.

The machine’s large 9.6 cubic metre (12.55 cubic yard) capacity feed hopper has hydraulically folding sides and an innovative hydraulic self-locking mechanism for efficient and speedier machine set-up and tear-down times.

‘The J-1170’s 45-tonne transport weight and compact dimensions mean lower transport costs between and within crushing sites, while the robust and intelligent chassis design, with good clearance at both ends, allows safe and easy loading on to all transport trailers,’ said Terex Finlay’s sales and marketing director, Nigel Irvine. ‘When you combine these factors with the excellent crushing capabilities, the machine easily meets the demands of owner operators and crushing contractors.’

Key features of the Terex Finlay J-1170 include:

  • Robust proven Terex 1,100mm x 700mm jaw crusher for high-capacity and large reduction ratios in quarrying, mining, demolition and recycling applications.
  • Optional hydraulic release for demolition and recycling applications.
  • Compact dimensions and quick set-up.
  • 45-tonne transport weight ensures ease of transport of between work sites.
  • Full CANbus control system.
  • Hydraulically assisted closed-side setting adjustment.
  • Excellent fuel economy.
