TDL take first order for Genie telehandler

Terex Distribution Ltd (TDL) supply new GTH3007 machine to scrap metal handling specialists

TEREX Distribution Ltd, authorized distributors of Genie telehandlers, have delivered their first GTH3007 model to Somerset-based Johnson Metals for use at their ferrous reprocessing area for stockpile management and for loading used batteries into high-sided trailers for transportation.

The Genie telehandler can lift 2,500kg to almost 6.9m in height, while 4m of forward reach caters for stockpiling and machine loading duties. Lisa Johnson, director of Johnson Metals, commented: ‘We needed a versatile, high-lift machine to free up our existing scrap handler. The GTH3007 fits the bill being equally at home loading high-sided bulk lorries or handling scrap in our ferrous metals section.’

Johnson Metals have specified an optional windscreen guard as additional protection to the ROPS and FOPS safety features offered by the standard cab. To endure the tough working conditions it will face, the GTH3007 has also been fitted with foam-filled tyres.

‘It’s a good strong machine and not as big as some of the others so it’s very maneuverable and has good all-round visibility,’ said company director Richard Johnson.
