Tarmac Southern choose Terex

"After viewing Terex TR70 dumptrucks at work at a number of sites, Tarmac Southern ordered two TR70s to replace their existing Terex 3309 dumptrucks at Halecombe Quarry near Frome."

"The 65-tonne payload of the TR70 provides a 13.5 tonnes per load increase on the 3309 model. Improved power, traction and manoeuvrability is provided by a 567kW Dietroit diesel engine and Allison automatic electronic transmission. Each circuit on the all-hydraulic brake system incorporates a nitrogen/hydraulic accumulator which stores energy to provide instant braking response for optimum safety. At Halecombe Quarry the TR70s are working 13h each weekday and 6h on Saturdays."

Servicing is carried out by a Tarmac fitter located on site and supported by the Terex service depot team at nearby Coleford.
