Strong presence for Bobcat at Bauma Africa

Bobcat E35 compact excavator

With stands in both the indoor (H5.321) and outdoor (C61) sections, Bobcat Equipment South Africa (Pty) Ltd, now part of the Goscor Group of Companies and the Imperial Group, will have a strong presence at the first ever Bauma Africa exhibition in Johannesburg from 18-21 September 2013. They will be showing a comprehensive display of the latest Bobcat compact loader, compact excavator, telescopic handler and attachment products.

Centre stage will be the new Bobcat 500 platform of compact loaders. The new 500 platform includes some of the company’s most popular models and is intended to cement Bobcat’s leadership of the skid-steer and compact tracked loader market worldwide.

Being shown alongside models from the company’s larger 800 Series of compact loaders, the new 500 platform models continue the pattern set by the larger machines with advances in comfort, visibility, cab room, controllability and cab pressurization.  With overall performance and cycle times up by around 16% on the previous models, the new 500 platform loaders take efficiency and productivity to higher levels.

The Bobcat range of telescopic handlers will also be a prominent feature of the stand.  The company now offers a range of four rotary telehandlers - the TR38160, TR45190, TR50210 and TR40250 models - providing lifting capacities from 3.8 tonnes to 5.0 tonnes and maximum lifting heights of 15.7m, 18.7m, 20.5m and 24.5m, respectively.

Suitable for rough-terrain applications in the building, civil engineering and industrial markets, the Bobcat rotary telehandler models complement the existing Bobcat range of 13 rigid-frame telehandlers with lift capacities from 2.2 tonnes to 4.0 tonnes and lift heights from 5.2m to 17.4m.

According to Bobcat, the E35 compact excavator being shown at Bauma Africa offers all the advantages common to the E-Series: high reliability, operator comfort, smooth and precise workgroup operation and superior hydraulic performance. The E35 excavator offers a digging depth of 3,117mm, reach at ground level of 5,230mm and a dump height of 3,437mm.

The 3.5-tonne zero-tail-swing model is said to combine maximum productivity with the ability to carry out jobs with precision and fingertip control. The load-sense piston pump and the closed centre valve allow fine metering of hydraulic flow for smooth, precise control of machine functions, while reducing hydraulic noise. The boom and dipper arm cylinders are cushioned to provide a smooth, end-of stroke operation.

Completing the Bobcat displays are examples from the company’s huge range of attachments for Bobcat compact loaders, excavators and telehandlers including the forestry cutter, soil conditioner and auger attachments. Complementing Bobcat attachments for construction and rental markets, these are part of a growing family of Bobcat attachments covering a wide range of applications in the landscaping, forestry, recycling, horticultural and grounds maintenance industries.
