Solutions for snow and ice removal
Bobcat now offer an even wider variety of solutions for dealing with winter weather, from snow blowers, blades and buckets for clearing heavy snowfalls to angle brooms for light snow and salt and sand spreaders to prevent the build up of snow and ice. Complementing the wide variety of attachments are the ranges of tool carriers, from compact skid-steer and tracked loaders, to articulated loaders and a family of telehandlers. To enhance working on snow, Bobcat offers optional steel tracks to go over the tyres on the wheeled loaders as well as individual tyre snow chains.
The variety of attachment and carrier combinations provides a range of solutions for nearly every application, including clearance of roads; pavements; car parks etc.
Bobcat have four snow blower models with widths varying from 1,220mm to 2,134mm. The snow blowers offer maximum throw distances from 7.6m to 13.7m and have a rotating chute and deflector to point the snow in the direction desired.
The snow blade, available in six widths from 1,219mm to 2,438mm, is designed to quickly remove light or moderate snow from pavements and driveways. An optional end wing kit converts the 2,134mm and 2,743mm models into high-production snow pushers, suitable for use in car parks and other larger areas.
The snow V-blade, which is available in five different widths, can be used in five configurations: as a V-blade, scoop blade, straight blade and 30 degree left or 30 degree right angle blade.
Large capacity buckets with widths from 1,371mm to 2,540mm and capacities from 0.36m3 to 1.53m3, are available for handling snow. They have high backs to help with pushing snow and straight sides to penetrate snow piles.
For the removal of light snowfalls 100mm or less in depth, the angle broom removes snow in just one pass. Another useful tool for snow removal is the whisker push broom, which can be mounted on a standard Bobcat bucket.
The hydraulic salt and sand spreader, with a hopper capacity of 250 litres, is suitable for spreading in confined areas, where larger equipment cannot be used. The hopper can be used as a bucket to allow the spreader to be filled from a pile. The spread pattern is controlled by a hydraulic motor and ranges from 5.6m to 8.7m, depending on the hydraulic flow of the carrier.
The super scraper and mini-scraper attachments, which are efficient at dislodging packed snow and ice, provide an environmentally friendly alternative to the use of chemicals or salt. The super scraper and mini scraper remove mud, snow, ice and other packed-on materials with ease, leaving behind a smooth surface for walking or driving.
