Siemens announce new distribution partner

Liverpool-based Central Group appointed as suppliers of Siemens LV motors and couplings

SIEMENS have expanded their partnering network across the UK with the appointment of Central Group. The newly appointed distribution partner already provides expertise in the maintenance and repair of pumps and alternators, and the latest agreement will see it offering Siemens’ complete portfolio of low-voltage (LV) motor products (from 0.09 to 4,000kW) to end-users and OEMs.

Liverpool-based Central Group use digital technology and innovations to better support their customers, and this digitalization strategy closely aligns to that of Siemens, as they continue to develop technologies, interfaces and infrastructures for implementing digital industrial production.

One of the ways in which new technological developments from Siemens will deliver tangible benefits to Central Group is the introduction of ‘smart tags’. Holding communications and localization functions within the so-called smart tags, these data will accompany products along the production line by recognizing, logging and controlling process steps – significantly increasing efficiencies and optimizing quality.

Kevin Brooks, distribution sales manager for Siemens UK & Ireland, said: ‘The scale of the addition of Central Group as a Siemens distribution partner should not be underestimated. Not only does this partnership enable us to significantly extend the reach of our partner network on a regional level, but it also means end-users and OEMs are able to access market-leading products and solutions, which are benchmarked against a uniform global standard of expertise.’

Shaun Sutton, director and co-owner of Central Group, added: ‘Becoming a distribution partner for Siemens’ LV motors and couplings is a really important move for Central Group which allows us to better meet the needs of our customers, whether they are end-users or OEMs.’

Through their Partner Programme, Siemens work closely with a number of different networks of partners, all of which have to meet certain high standards to gain verification on the scheme. The selected partners will provide future-oriented, high-quality solutions to add value and improve the competitive advantage for all industry sectors.
