SHE success for Salop Sand & Gravel Supply Co. Ltd

Level 3 SHE Certificates

First cohort complete IQ Level 3 Safety, Health and Environmental Knowledge (SHE) Certificate

SIX employees at Salop Sand & Gravel Supply Co. Ltd are celebrating becoming the first cohort of delegates to complete the Level 3 SHE certificate run by the Institute of Quarrying (IQ).

Sam Howells, Russell Collier, Nigel Baugh, Matthew Mclean, Glen Parke and Andrew Hart successfully completed the MPQC Level 3 Certificate in Safety, Health and Environmental Knowledge. Meanwhile, IQ member Claire Selby completed the MPQC Level 6 Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management in Mineral Products Operations.

 

Julian Smallshaw, IQ’s head of educational development, hand delivered the certificates to Salop Sand & Gravel Supply Co. Ltd’s head office in Telford. He said: ‘Congratulations Sam, Russell, Nigel, Matthew, Glen and Andrew; becoming the first cohort of delegates to complete the Level 3 SHE certificate is an achievement in itself. Also, a massive congratulations to Claire; completing the Level 6 Diploma is a big achievement for both you and the company.

‘Continuing professional development (CPD) is extremely important within the mineral extractives industry, and IQ prides itself on delivering globally recognized training, education and qualifications to its members. Health and Safety is an ongoing industry issue, therefore it’s imperative that industry professionals have the knowledge, understanding and practical application of key regulations and standards that affect our industry in order to work towards the aim of zero harm.’ 

The Level 3 Certificate delivered by IQ has been developed to provide an in-depth understanding of essential elements required for an individual’s career development in the extractives and mineral-processing industries. It delivers a firm foundation of knowledge in key elements of safety, health and environmental processes and procedures, alongside additional complementary key areas such as leadership and communication techniques and theory.
