SES aim to beat flight delays

Sure Equipment Spares tackle international air-freight concerns with significant boost to stock levels

SURE Equipment Spares (SES) – part of the Finlay Group – have introduced a six-figure investment programme to increase their stock in light of the effect of changes to international transportation on the delivery of parts from overseas.

Security checks around the world mean that larger items, such as engines, now need to be screened – usually by x-ray – before being transported by plane.

Difficulties in completing this for waste-recycling and quarry machinery, due to the sheer size of the equipment involved, mean that spares often have to be moved by road rather than air, thereby extending delivery times from overnight to a two-day service.

Julian Sharpe, managing director of SES (pictured), said: ‘With this in mind, we’ve invested £100,000 in increasing our stocks to overcome these logistics issues and ensure we can continue to deliver to customers quickly.’

Sure Equipment Spares are agents for Terex Finlay, Allu, Tesab, Pilot Crushtec and Trio, providing spares from their computerized central warehouse in the Midlands, backed up by strategically located satellite warehouses and the ability to draw on online spares direct from various dealership complexes.
