Rubber screen media

Screening media usually feature at some point in the processing of recycled and secondary aggregates. In mobile or static screening applications the use of a wire mesh for maximum screening efficiency is relatively common. Perforated plate, as an alternative, would provide longer media life, thus keeping replacement costs down, however there is also the noise factor to consider.

According to Brimonn Manufacturing, cord-tensioned rubber screen cloths offer screening efficiency with greatly reduced noise levels. In addition, they can substantially increase media life and replacement intervals compared with wire mesh. In certain applications, Brimonn claim that cord-tensioned rubber can last up to five times longer than mesh.It can also be removed and refitted in the same way as normal mesh.

Where polyurethane media are fitted, particularly in impact areas, rubber screens can offer a real alternative owing to their durability, ability to absorb impact, lower cost and better availability, say Brimonn.
