Rock Fall introduce the Alaska boot

New thermally insulated safety boot makes cold feet a thing of the past in extreme working conditions

SAFETY footwear manufacturers Rock Fall (UK) Ltd have launched the Alaska RF001 boot, which combines comprehensive foot protection with water-repellent full-grain leather upper and enhanced insulation properties.

The Alaska RF001 boot is one of the highest-specification cold-store boots in Europe and features slip-resistant rubber outsoles able to withstand temperatures down to minus 40 degrees Celsius.

The boot boasts a 3M Thinsulate B600 thermal lining, which comprises a ‘Fursulate’ insulated lining for warmth and comfort, together with a breathable mid-lining offering maximum moisture-wicking properties.

The protective composite toecap and anti-penetration composite internal mid-sole also enhance the thermal and safety properties of the boot, making it particularly suitable for individuals working in construction in cold climates, offshore settings and other hazardous low-temperature environments.

Commenting on the development of the Alaska boot, Stephen Noon, managing director of Rock Fall (UK) Ltd, said: ‘We listened to professionals operating in cold conditions. Cold-related foot conditions can seriously affect the health and productivity of a workforce and so we set out to develop what we feel is the best thermally insulated boot on the market.

‘In addition to its outstanding temperature resistance and comfort, the Alaska boasts a number of very high-specification features that ensure the protection of feet from a number of hazards.’

The Alaska boot surpasses the EN ISO 20345:2004 S3 CI European Safety Standard.
