Ringway bond with Acmar

"Three of the largest and most sophisticated bond-coat sprayers in the UK have been delivered to Ringway. The French-built Acmar sprayers, to be operated by Ringway Specialist Treatments, are equipped with the latest computerized control system for the accurate mixing and spraying of Ringway Specialist Treatments’ own special Gripclean bond-coating material."

"Each of the Acmar sprayers has a 17,000-litre capacity Gripclean tanker and specially developed Nybreak technology which permits chemical dosing in each Acmar nozzle to provide further chemical break control on the Gripclean emulsion. The Acmars are mounted on 32-tonne Mercedes-Benz Actros 8 x 4 rigid chassis and have a variable 0.1m to 5m spray width, making them suitable for use on single carriageways, major trunk roads, motorways and airfield reconstruction."

"Gripclean has been developed from emulsion technology and is applied in a similar way to traditional tack and bond coats. It is sprayed on to the surface from a specially adapted spray bar on the back of the Acmar tanker while the mixing, quantity and coverage are computer controlled from the driver’s cab. Developed in France by Ringway’s parent company, Eurovia, Gripclean’s special recipe has been formulated to prevent it sticking to anything it comes into contact with, except the road base it is sprayed on to and the surfacing material placed on top. It is produced in the UK under licence by Nynas Bitumen."
