Remote screen monitoring at Leamouth Wharf

HEWITT Robins have successfully designed and implemented a remote monitoring system for their vibratory screens, feeders and dewaterers, allowing live data transfer from site to any location in the world.

The system monitors screen performance continuously alerting both the customer and Hewitt Robins of any anomalies.

CEMEX’s Leamouth Wharf, in Southampton, was the first site in the country to test the system, which has been installed on their new 2.5m x 7.2m inclined double-deck washing screen, also supplied by Hewitt Robins.

Matt Wild, CEMEX Southern Region director, commented: ‘Leamouth Wharf produces 360,000 tonnes of sand and gravel a year; it was therefore vital that we chose the right manufacturer to replace our existing screen.

‘The remote monitoring system is natural extension of our preventative maintenance programme, providing useful data on a daily basis, ultimately reducing our maintenance expenditure.’
