Rapid Expansion for Speedy Pumps

Following the opening of new depots in Birmingham, London and South Wales, Speedy Pumps – part of the UK’s largest tool and equipment hire provider, Speedy Hire – have now opened their first depot in Scotland.

Located at Downiebrae Road on the banks of the river Clyde in Glasgow, the new depot will stock a full range of specialist pumping equipment, including high-head pumps and wide range of submersibles suitable for quarry applications.

Speedy Pumps, who currently service customers from 24 depots located throughout the UK and Ireland, say they plan to open a further 10 new depots across the UK within the next 12 months, and will be investing £16million in new equipment over the next three years.

The company have already underlined their commitment to become number one in the specialist pump-hire sector with a £2 million investment in new equipment in the past six months, including purchase of 3in to 8in high-head diesel pumps, some of which are super-silent, as well as hydraulic and electric submersibles, high-pressure hose and other accessories for this type of equipment.

In addition, Speedy Pumps have also launched an emergency support service with dedicated hotlines that will allow customers to obtain expert assistance on technical issues and call out specialist support engineers around the clock.

Gary Cooper, managing director of Speedy Pumps, said: ‘It is essential that our customers can rely on the equipment they use to operate effectively and efficiently 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

‘The introduction of our 24/7 emergency support service underlines our commitment to providing the latest state-of-the-art equipment backed up by the best technical knowledge and support. Should an issue arise, we will provide advice or a pump engineer immediately, saving customers time and money no matter what the hour.’
