Premix gain top quality award

HANSON Premix in the South-West have become the first QSRMC-registered company in the UK to achieve certification to the new international quality standard –– EN ISO 9001:2000 –– well in advance of the December 2003 deadline.

"The new standard, which replaces EN ISO 9001:1994, places greater emphasis on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. The requirements of the new standard have been incorporated within the latest issue of the QSRMC regulations."

"Charlie Jones, national technical manager for Hanson Premix, said: ‘The old standard simply required us to comply with stated procedures. Now we have to be much more aware of customer requirements and expectations and demonstrate that we are continuously making progress and moving the business forward to enhance customer satisfaction.’"

"South-West Premix, with over 40 sites, have fast-tracked through the transition to the new standard in five weeks to become the first to gain certification. Other areas are now expected to follow suit, with the whole of Hanson’s Premix business gaining certification to the standard by the end of this year."
