Planned rental from Lombard

"Earlier this year Imerys Minerals Ltd acquired a brand new fleet of Caterpillar 775D, 980G and D9R machines, totalling nearly £5 million, using finance provided by Lombard. Imerys are one of many businesses that have taken advantage of Lombard’s Construction Planned Rental operating lease facility. For Imerys, the lease was structured to support their forecast production over a period of five years, and it was the flexibility of the package that influenced the company’s decision to use Lombard."

"Construction Planned Rental is geared specifically to earthmoving and quarry plant, giving operators the freedom to choose all types of equipment, as well as the ability to plan and forecast costs with greater confidence. One of the main benefits of an operating lease is that only the difference between the capital cost and the residual value of an item of equipment is funded. Costs can therefore be spread evenly over the period and tailored to the optimum working life of the machine, instead of the sudden demand for cash normally associated with outright purchase."

"The operating lease can be further enhanced by including a ‘service’ or ‘repair and maintenance’ contract. The former ensures that all routine services are completed at a fixed cost, while the latter includes most repairs and breakdowns."

"For operators preferring traditional ownership, Lombard also sell used equipment. These machines are normally ex-operating lease units, often with full service histories and usually between two and five years old."
