Planned rental from Lombard

"Earlier this year Imerys Minerals Ltd acquired a brand new fleet of Caterpillar 775D, 980G and D9R machines, totalling nearly £5 million, using finance provided by Lombard. For Imerys, the lease was structured to support their forecast production over a period of five years, and it was the flexibility of the package that influenced the company’s decision to use Lombard."

One of the main benefits of an operating lease is that only the difference between the capital cost and the residual value of an item of equipment is funded. Costs can therefore be spread evenly over the period and tailored to the optimum working life of the machine, instead of the sudden demand for cash normally associated with outright purchase."
