Patersons gear up with Cat

Patersons of Greenoakhill, one of Scotland's largest independent building materials and landfill specialists, have invested heavily in new mobile plant over the last 18 months. They have Caterpillar machinery working at the quarry face; loading block-making and ready-mix batching plants; and loading, handling, compacting and covering waste material at their Greenoakhill landfill site, east of Glasgow.

Among the newest additions to the company's fleet are two specially modified Cat D300E articulated dumptrucks which have large 40m3 bodies allowing them to carry greater volumes of material, without requiring a larger, more expensive machine. They are working in conjunction with a new Cat 972G wheel loader at the landfill site. A Cat 826G compactor and a Cat D6R LGP (low ground pressure) dozer complete the landfill process.

At their Dunduff Quarry a new Cat 980G faceshovel is working alongside one of the company's three Cat 950G loaders.
