New vice-president appointment at NSSGA

Michelle Stanley

Michele Stanley appointed to head government and regulatory affairs for National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association

MICHELE Stanley has been promoted to vice-president of government and regulatory affairs at the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) in the US.

Ms Stanley (pictured) has been with NSSGA for more than four years, during which time she has helped grow the association into a leading advocate for the aggregates industry and infrastructure investment.

In her new role she will be charged with leading efforts to advance public policies that protect and expand the safe, environmentally responsible use of the aggregates required to build America’s infrastructure and economy.

‘Michele brings to the job a wealth of experience in advocating for infrastructure investment, worker safety and health and common-sense regulations,’ noted NSSGA’s president and chief executive officer, Michael W. Johnson.

‘She has proven time and again to be someone that our members can trust to effectively lead our advocacy programme, and she has earned the respect of those around her.’

Ms Stanley has more than 15 years’ experience in public policy and political advocacy. Most recently, she was the senior director of government affairs at NSSGA, and before that was a government affairs director at the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

‘This is an exciting time in our industry as we strongly advocate for increased infrastructure investment; break down the permitting barriers for our member companies, large and small; and strive to keep our workers safe at quarries, in work zones and at home. I’m lucky to be a part of it all,’ commented Ms Stanley.
