Rob Collard (left in picture)

Robert Collard appointed chairman of London and Southern counties region of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors

ROBERT Collard (pictured left), founder and managing director of Hampshire-based R Collard Ltd, has been appointed chairman of the London and Southern counties region of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC).

Mr Collard spent two years as vice chairman and takes over from outgoing president Holly Price. He will be supported by Matthew Phillips of Downwell Demolition who takes up the role of vice chairman.

Founded in 1995, R Collard Ltd are one of the most respected companies operating in the demolition sector in the south of England. With more than 200 staff, the company provides a comprehensive range of services ranging from consultancy and site investigations to structural demolition and construction waste management. The Eversley-based firm operates five waste transfer stations, delivering services to main contractors, developers and public sector organizations throughout Hampshire.

Mr Collard intends to use his two-year tenure as chairman to bring his technical knowledge of demolition and construction waste recycling to the region’s membership.

He commented: ‘I am honoured to be representing NFDC members operating in the region and look forward to sharing with them the expertise I have gained running R Collard. The UK construction sector is continuing to see strong growth and the accompanying demand for demolition services and quality recycled aggregates presents opportunities for all of us to be at the heart of the circular economy.’

R Collard’s demolition division provides feedstock for the company’s waste management facilities which, in turn, generate high-grade washed aggregates for reuse in construction and civil engineering projects. R Collard also invest more than £100,000 each year in training their workforce, while demolition projects are audited by the NFDC’s Site Audit Accreditation Scheme, demonstrating the company’s health and safety, and environmental credentials.
