New senior appointment at Aggregate Industries

Company strengthens Readymix concrete business with appointment of Lee Sleight as managing director

AGGREGATE Industries have continued to strengthen their senior team with the appointment Lee Sleight as new managing director of the Readymix division and member of the company’s executive committee.

With 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, Mr Sleight brings with him a proven track record as a leader in concrete business. He has held various senior leadership positions for building material suppliers and has vast experience in heavy-side construction.

 

Over the years Mr Sleight has developed his career in the industry in both operational and commercial roles, and most recently was business unit manager for Sika Ltd. Under his leadership, the company continued to grow its market share in concrete while steering its way through the recent pandemic.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Sleight (pictured) said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Aggregate Industries and look forward to helping the business navigate the challenges posed by a post-pandemic recovery.

‘In a market that’s always changing and evolving, it’s never been more important to understand what customers need and ensure we deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that solve real-life problems. I look forward to making my mark on the division and supporting the business in building on its success to date.’

Aggregate Industries’ chief executive officer, Dragan Maksimovic, said: ‘I’d like to congratulate Lee on his new position and look forward to working alongside him as a member of our senior team. With his far-reaching experience, I’m confident he will be a real asset to the executive committee and the wider business.’

Mr Sleight succeeds Barry Hope, who will remain on Aggregate Industries’ executive team managing strategic projects in his new role as business development director, further consolidating AI’s position in the UK market. Mr Hope has been with the business for 10 years and has also previously been managing director of the Cement division.
