New sales appointment at Ballyclare

Jeff Burns

Workwear and PPE manufacturer appoints Jeff Burns as regional sales manager for Scotland and Ireland

BALLYCLARE, designers, manufacturers and suppliers of workwear and protective clothing, have appointed Jeff Burns as regional sales manager for Scotland and Ireland, where he will work closely with the distributor market across several industries.

With a keen interest in personal protective equipment (PPE), workwear and safety footwear that stems from his involvement, from an early age, in forestry, Mr Burns has been in sales and sales management for more than 30 years.

Building his knowledge while working with Dickies, he gained valuable experience managing accounts in a variety of markets, including industrial, builders’ merchants, agricultural and oil and gas.

‘Growing up in the harsh working environment of forestry, I had hands on experience in an era when technical workwear was in its infancy. This has led to a deep appreciation for wearing appropriate work clothing, designed to not only keep you safe, but dry, warm and comfortable,’ he explained.

Joining Buckler Boots as national sales manager, Mr Burns (pictured) was instrumental in the growth of their distributor network and sales across the UK before creating his own successful brand of footwear, Big Bear.

Commenting on his appointment, Ballyclare’s sales and marketing director, Roger Foster, said: ‘Jeff is a fantastic addition to Ballyclare with a wealth of experience and knowledge across different products and sectors. He has gained a valuable network of contacts and relationships which will further our reach in sectors where the Ballyclare offer has a defined solution.

‘The Ballyclare team is evolving with a strong focus on a wider breadth of experience, knowledge and expertise. Jeff brings this focus to the team.’
