New plasma cutter from GYS Ltd

GYS Ltd, the French welding equipment and battery charger manufacturers, have launched a new lightweight single-phase 230V plasma cutter 21KF with an in-built 60/70dB air compressor and de-humidifier, making it suitable for use in workshops and on-site in agricultural, construction, quarrying and engineering applications, where no compressed air supply may be available.

Utilising inverter technology, it is designed to cut at up to 20A using a 13amp fuse plug, producing low-intensity quality cuts on 6mm thick steel, stainless steel and cast iron sheets as well as on 4mm aluminium and copper sheets including painted surfaces, without any distortion.

The GYS ‘Pilot Arc’ system allows the arc to start without any contact with the sheet being cut, making it very easy to use. Starting without any HF avoids any electromagnetic interference (phones, computers radios, etc).

Other features include a 4m air-cooled torch with a safety trigger to avoid any accidental starting of the unit, reinforced protection for use with a generator, over voltage tested up to 400V and offers IP23 protection against rain and dust impregnation.

Options include a Compass kit for circular cutting up to 134cm diameter and a wheeled trolley to optimize the cutting distance between the worksurface and the torch nozzle.
