New MD for Aquila Construction

Andy Rigby

Andy Rigby appointed as managing director to spearhead aggressive growth strategy in 2014

MIDLANDS-based construction equipment dealers Aquila are spearheading their expansion programme with the appointment of a new managing director to lead the business.

Sales manager Andy Rigby has been promoted to the board of directors and will take up the post of managing director with immediate effect. He has been with the business for the last year, joining just months after the firm was created by the Aquila Group.

Prior to joining Aquila, Mr Rigby (pictured) was with Danish crane specialists HMF. He has spent his entire career giving technical advice to clients purchasing high-end machinery.

His new appointment comes on the back of a year of successive new business wins for the Walsall-headquartered firm, which supplies Caterpillar products for purchase or short-term hire across the Midlands from Worcester in the South up to Staffordshire and across to the Welsh border.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Rigby said: ‘We’ve had a fantastic year and we’re now gearing up to implement an aggressive growth strategy in 2014. I’ve built my career around ensuring the customer gets exactly the right tool for the job and providing solutions to meet individual requirements. I’m now looking forward to building my career with Aquila and growing the business further.’
