New LT1213 impactor for John Munroe

Crushing contractor to use new Metso Lokotrack plant on major Gort–Tuam motorway development

DURABILITY, reliability and transportability were said to be the key criteria for Irish crushing contractors John Munroe Mobile Crushing & Screening Ltd in selecting a new Metso Lokotrack LT1213 mobile impactor.

With bases in Ireland and in Scotland, John Munroe serve a wide customer base across Ireland and the UK, focusing on providing crushing and screening services in road construction, wind farm development, sand and gravel production and hard rock quarries.

Established in 1999, the company has since built up a diverse fleet of machines for hire, but the new LT1213 is the Ballinrobe-based company’s first ever Metso crushing plant.

‘When making our decision, the size, transportability, mobility, durability and reliability of the crushing plant were decisive for us,’ commented managing director John Munroe. ‘Metso’s Lokotrack could meet these qualifications best.’

The company’s new machine has commenced operations at McGrath’s Quarry in Cong, Ireland, but will shortly take up its next assignment, working on the major new Gort to Tuam motorway development.

McHale, the exclusive distributors of Metso crushing and screening equipment in Ireland, say they are exceedingly pleased with the level of interest shown by quarry owners in the Metso range of crushing and screening plants.

‘Our customers are influenced by a number of factors that give Metso an edge, such as their status as a well-resourced global supplier and proven credentials in the field of crusher design and technology,’ said managing director Michael McHale.
