New local dust filters

The Brunitec system of local dust filters and extractors is being introduced into the UK by Orthos (Engineering) Ltd.

"Individual 125kg units are easy to install as they need just 500mm headroom. By eliminating the heavier dust concentrations found in the larger filter installations they can replace, these local filter systems are said to significantly reduce the associated risk of fire and explosion."

"They are also said to be more cost-effective in most instances and easier to maintain than ducted systems, reducing pressure and high air velocities which lowers the dust load on the sleeves and the concentration of dust within the filter to increase sleeve life."

"Installed horizontally, vertically or at a sloping angle, and needing no support structure, units are available in a choice of materials and with various filter media to suit individual conditions. Each unit is supplied with a reverse-air-pressure filter sleeve cleaning mechanism and is controlled by an automatic sequencer."
