New high-voltage detection system for vehicles

Transport Support’s latest HVDS (high-voltage detection system) is designed to prevent vehicles and machinery with a variable height from coming into contact with high voltage overhead power lines.

The system consists of a cab-mounted detection antenna and an in-cab audio/visual warning unit.

This latest model features a new detection antenna, which, according to the company, is not only more durable and lighter in weight but also increases the sensitivity of the system.
HVDS can sense the presence of overhead power cables from up to 80m away warning the operator of the potential danger.

It can be supplied eithers as a stand-alone unit (12-24V) or as an integrated part of Transport Support’s vehicle safety systems.

The standard HVDS unit is permanently mounted to the vehicle and uses a roof-mounted antenna to detect the presence of overhead power lines.
The all-weather HVDS system is the same specification as the standard system except the control unit is mounted to the exterior of the vehicle. The system is waterproof to IP68 rating and features waterproof high-intensity LED's and loud external sounder.

The standard HVDS system is also available in a portable format. This allows the system to be easily swapped between different vehicles and does not require any permanent fixings. The portable system features a suction cup window mount, magnetic detection antenna and lighter plug power connection. This system is suitable for sites where many different vehicles are visiting or for users who lease or hire vehicles.
