New funding for CDE waste innovation

The Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) is inviting tenders for work to research, identify and report on new and emerging technologies in the field of CDE waste materials recycling facilities (MRFs).

WRAP is seeking “…technologies which will improve the quantity and quality of the non-inert fraction of material recovered through a MRF operation… which are or could be readily available in the UK.”

Reports can be on UK, European or US technologies and can cover equipment, software, techniques or processes. Research will be assembled for public dissemination to assess viability, practicality and cost effectiveness.

WRAP is the organisation cited in the recent government Strategy for Sustainable Construction as taking the lead in managing the UK’s halving of CDE waste going to landfill by 2012.

Write to Helene Gentry, manufacturing and materials recycling team co-ordinator quoting MRF 113 in an email addressed to helene.gentry@wrap.org.uk.

Closing date for tender submissions: 30 October 2008, 12:30pm.
