New Dunlop authorized distributor for the South West

Vulcanising SW to provide the full range of premium conveyor belting products from the Dutch-based manufacturer

ONE of the leading process and conveyor belt suppliers in the UK, Vulcanising SW, have been appointed as an authorized distributor for Netherlands-based Dunlop Conveyor Belting.

Already selling Dunlop products, the distributorship will now allow Vulcanising SW (VSW) to provide the full range of premium belting, matting and sheeting products to their existing clients, as well as build relationships with new customers through their connections with Dunlop.

Dunlop manufacture a wide range of hi-performance and specialist belting products designed for even the most demanding environments and conditions, including both heavyweight and lighter-weight belting that is specifically designed to help prevent ripping and tearing and to cope with heavy impacts, making them well suited to the aggregates and mining sectors.

VSW say they will utilize their considerable industry know-how and high service standards across the south-west of England from Cornwall to Oxford and across to Southampton in the east and mid/South Wales to the west.

Craig Jones, VSW manager (heavy duty), said: ‘We’re really pleased and proud to bring the amazing range of Dunlop’s premium belting products and technical support to existing and new customers. Our authorized distributor status will enable the team at VSW to give clients much more choice, allowing us to offer greater flexibility to meet their needs and issues.

‘Much the same as VSW, Dunlop are very much a solutions-based company and working together will give us the opportunity to really deliver better belting solutions and better value across the heavy-duty sector. I think it’s an ideal partnership.’

Dunlop’s sales and marketing director, Andries Smilda, is equally enthusiastic about working with VSW: ‘The UK market is dominated by so-called ‘economy’ belting imported from south-east Asia. If truth be told, the very best that can be said for it is that ‘It does a job’.

‘At Dunlop, we have always refused to play such a game. Instead, we focus our approach on lowest cost rather than lowest selling price, by offering belting that provides a much longer operational lifetime.

‘VSW are a highly respected operation who will be able to provide first-hand advice and help their customers achieve much greater reliability and cost-effectiveness.’
