New coating plant

"Baxter Asphalt, the newly formed arm of Lancashire-based Baxter Construction Group, have opened their first coating facility at Fylde near Blackpool. The plant, a 60 tonnes/h Blackmix, designed and manufactured by Leicester-based Parker Plant Ltd, has been purchased as part of the company’s long-term development strategy and is Baxter’s first venture into coated-stone products."

"The Blackmix plant is capable of producing a wide range of conventional coated macadams and hot-rolled asphalts, as well as more specialized surfacing products. A central microprocessor stores up to 1,000 recipes, each with its own detailed specification of material composition and product conditions. The system is also designed to accept a maximum of 15–20% RAP materials."
