New blast monitor from Instantel
INSTANTEL, suppliers of blast vibration monitors for compliance applications, will be featuring their new Minimate Pro4 vibration and overpressure monitor at the forthcoming MINExpo International mining exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 22–24 September 2008.
According to Instantel, the Minimate Pro4 monitor incorporates an extensive range of features that will make it the preferred monitor for blasting professionals in the mining and quarrying industry. Ron Mask, sales manager at Instantel, said: ‘There is not another unit on the market that compares – it is virtually indestructible, giving the unit a longer life-span and lower long-term monitoring costs.’
Instantel say the Minimate Pro4 monitor is easy to set up and operate with rugged colour-coded connectors, an improved user interface, a backlit LCD display, and intuitive menu options, while its expanded 64MB memory offers sufficient capacity for more than 8,000 1s events at a 1,024 S/s sample rate. In addition, flexible sample rate options from 1,024 to 4,096 S/s as well as Instantel’s enhanced Histogram Combo are included. The Histogram Combo recording mode allows the capture of thousands of full-waveform records while recording in histogram (strip-chart) mode.
Furthermore, new Ethernet communications allow for fast downloading of recorded events or uploading of Minimate Pro4 monitor set-up configurations. Incorporating a real-time operating system, recording is uninterrupted by event processing, monitoring, or communication, which means zero dead time between events.
