New belt weigher takes accuracy for granted

Avery Weigh-Tronix have launched a new trade-approved belt weigher that offers users guaranteed OIML-approved weighing accuracy up to half a per cent better than standard models.

Following numerous requests for an R50 OIML-stamped in-conveyor system, Avery Weigh-Tronix have entered into an exclusive agreement with belt-weighing specialists Jesma as their sole UK and Ireland distributor for the WC9604 VIB/EER unit.

Typically, belt weighers provide accuracies of around 1%, which is sufficient for general check-weighing but unacceptable for trade weighing. The WC9604 VIB/EER provides results that are accurate to ± 0.25%, which means that operators do not have to recheck the results on a separate verified system, thereby improving productivity.

Trading Standards Officers can also access the machine’s flash RAM memory to retrieve weight data, and the entire unit is anti-tamper sealed for additional data security.

The belt weigher is supplied in a self-contained frame that is custom built to suit the conveyor dimensions and belt speed, thereby ensuring seamless integration into existing lines and consistent material flow rates. It can be integrated into numerous control systems using standard networks such as Profibus and Ethernet, and is available with ATEX ratings for use in hazardous areas.
