New appointment for DB Schenker Rail coal sector

Rail freight firm strengthens coal team as Martin Littlemore moves across from construction sector

DB Schenker Rail’s coal team has been strengthened following the appointment of Martin Littlemore (pictured) as account manager coal. Mr Littlemore joins the coal sector of the company’s Industrial segment from its construction function, where he was account manager to a range of aggregate customers.

With 15 years of extensive commercial railway experience, Mr Littlemore has helped secure key contracts with major customers including Tarmac Northern, BLI Cement, Manchester Airport second runway, Heathrow Terminal 5 and Guardian Glass, and also formed a number of arrangements relating to delivery of materials for the construction of the London 2012 Olympics Games.

Commenting on the appointment, Neil McDonald, managing director of DB Schenker Rail UK’s Industrial segment, said: ‘We are delighted that Martin is joining our already strong coal team. At a time when we are leading the coal by rail sector through good service delivery, Martin will continue to ensure we have strong representation in this market.’
