New appointment at Lytag Ltd

Lightweight aggregate producer appoints Andrew Cross as technical and quality manager

LYTAG Ltd, suppliers of secondary lightweight aggregate, have appointed Andrew Cross to the role of technical and quality manager.

Mr Cross has expert knowledge of lightweight aggregate (LWA) application, ready-mixed concrete and precast concrete, and has worked in the aggregate and concrete industries for more than 15 years. He joins Lytag Ltd following roles including national technical manager with Marshalls plc and technical quality and improvement manager with CEMEX.

Gareth Moores, managing director of Lytag Ltd, commented: ‘Andrew will have an important role in the development of Lytag Ltd as the business continues to grow. As well as providing technical support and guidance for customers and the Lytag Ltd sales team, he will be involved in product development and maintaining our excellent quality, environmental and safety performance.’

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Cross said: ‘I am proud to become part of the Lytag Ltd team that provides unique lightweight aggregate and concrete solutions for projects as varied as the Gherkin, Westminster Bridge and the Millennium Stadium. For me, environmentally responsible construction is a passion and I look forward to assisting specifiers and end users in realizing the full potential of Lytag LWA.’

Mr Cross will be based at the company’s head office in North Yorkshire and will provide technical expertise for users of Lytag LWA across the globe.
