YELLOWTRACK, the European procurement network for new construction equipment, has announced a new initiative to help combat theft in the plant sector. Yellowtrack have confirmed arrangements with three parties in the anti-theft market to deliver equipment protection on three fronts.
First, all Yellowtrack machines sold from January 2001 will be registered automatically with The National Plant Register (TER). Secondly, all machines will come with a unique microdot identifier kit from Alpha Dot, and finally the theft package will also include optional mechanical locking systems from Lincmaster.
Commenting on the initiative, Roger Wyles of Yellowtrack said: 'Theft has been a growing problem in the UK plant market and we felt that Yellowtrack needed to offer anti-theft measures. With up to three types of protection working for equipment owners, we aim to make Yellowtrack-sourced equipment as safe as possible.
'We are now negotiating reduced premiums from insurers for equipment covered by this initiative.'
