Morris Site Machinery open new depot in Aylesford

Jamie Whyatt

Company expands to meet demand in the South East and to support European and overseas ambitions

SITE machinery manufacturers Morris Site Machinery have expanded their UK footprint with the opening of a new parts and servicing depot in Aylesford, Kent, and have appointed Jamie Whyatt as its dedicated service engineer.

The new depot will serve the company’s customer base in the South East as well as providing a base from which to support the company’s burgeoning European and overseas ambitions.

The 4,147 square foot mezzanine warehouse and office provides space for servicing and repairs, and offers visitors the opportunity to see products from Morris Site Machinery’s core brands of SMC, ArcGen, Hilta and Denyo.

The new premises is located just one mile from Junction 6 of the M20 motorway, making it highly accessible to the national motorway network. It also benefits from being 35 miles south-east of London and 40 miles west of the Channel ports.

Newly appointed Jamie Whyatt (pictured), who will manage the new depot and be the dedicated service engineer for the region, brings with him nearly 20 years’ engineering and on-site technical experience, having previously worked for Balfour Beatty.

He said: ‘I was already familiar with many of the company’s big brands like ArcGen and SMC TL-90 lighting towers, as they are Network Rail-approved machines which I have worked on. I have very much enjoyed my in-house training on all the products and the company values, and am now keen to get on and make my mark.’

Phil Winnington, Morris Site Machinery’s managing director, said: ‘We have been relentlessly improving and investing in our business over the last year, which has not only included a new premises but also investing in our staff and systems to enhance production.

‘This allows us to future-proof our stability and, importantly, to continually innovate and bring products and services to our customers.’
