More Sizers for Singleton Birch

Singleton Birch have recently purchased two more Mogensen Sizers for their new graded-lime plant at Melton Ross which came into full production in December 1999.

The two machines are a type-S2056 Sizer with five 2m wide decks and a type-3056 Sizer with five 3m wide decks. Two vibratory spreader feeders, types F2005C and F3005C, designed to match the Sizers, were also supplied by Mogensen to give an evenly spread feed to each machine.

The contract also included the supply of flexible couplings between the four fully dustproofed machines. Invicta K-series rotary electric vibrators provide energy for all the machines. The 2m Sizer takes a total feed of 140 tonnes/h of 0-25mm burnt lime (70 tonnes/h from a BJD roll crusher and 70 tonnes/h from a BJD hammer mill) and makes separations at 15mm and 6mm. The secondary 3m Sizer is handling 70 tonnes/h of 0-14mm burnt lime and makes separations at 3mm and 2mm.

Installation of these new units brings the total number of Mogensen machines working at the Melton Ross plant to over 20.
