More business for Mogensen at Singleton Birch
Singleton Birch Ltd recently installed a type-S2056EL Mogensen Sizer to replace a machine that had been in service for about 28 years.
The Sizer, a 2m, five-deck machine fitted with Mogensen-designed electric heating to the two lowest decks, is handling 70 tonnes/h of crushed 0–10mm chalk, and removing 63 tonnes/h of <3mm material.
Mogensen enjoy a long-standing relationship with Singleton Birch having supplied 19 machines over a period of nearly 40 years. During this time it has been necessary to replace only two of these machines.
The range of machines installed includes 0.5m, 1.0m, 1.5m, 2m and 3m Sizers, a couple of small conventional Mogensen screens and two large vibratory spreader feeders. The processing duties comprise the screening and feeding of a variety of relatively fine sizes of crushed chalk and burnt lime. Most feed sizes are less than 15mm and the separations are principally in the range 4.5mm to 1mm: an exception involves the difficult duty of screening 30 tonnes/h of burnt lime to remove 7 tonnes/h of <0.15mm fines.
