Modernized truckmixer production

The 40,000th Liebherr truckmixer built at Liebherr-Mischtechnik GmbH’s plant in Bad Schussenried, Germany, recently rolled off the production line. The company’s current range comprises 14 models with nominal capacities of between 5m3 and 15m3 of set concrete.

Liebherr are investing a substantial amount into modernizing the production line, which will lead to significant increases in productivity and truckmixer production capabilities at the site.

The existing production concept is being re-structured according to the ‘flow-oriented factory’ principle. This focuses on measures for storage in close proximity to assembly lines, improved hoisting equipment for simplifying work processes, product design tailored for ease of assembly and the development of independent pre-assembled modules. State-of-the-art technologies for machining, welding and final assembly help ensure optimal truckmixer quality. Liebherr say that the redesigned shotblasting and priming line will considerably improve the corrosion resistance of the mixer bodies.
