McCloskey impress at international dealer open day event

McCloskey International Open Day

Twenty-seven dealerships from 21 countries impressed by multi-spread equipment demonstrations

McCLOSKEY held their first multi-spread demonstration event at King Bros.’ quarry in Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland, on 1 November, to highlight the power of their equipment when working in tandem. The demonstrations formed an integral part of events tailored to familiarize both new and established dealers with the versatility and productivity of the company’s latest products.

More than 70 attendees enjoyed guided tours of the quarry to watch the various spreads at work and to speak directly to McCloskey experts. The two-day event also featured factory tours of the company’s Granville and Killyman facilities, plus a Dealer Forum at Clonoe.

For the demonstrations, the equipment was arranged in productive crushing, screening and stacking combinations, with one dedicated to showcasing the newest compact crushers on the market. Feed material varied over the three equipment spreads, to showcase the quality end products delivered in two key applications – demolition material and the crushing of blasted rock.

The first demonstration featured a J44 jaw crusher, C38 cone crusher, 100ft stacker and an S190 triple-deck screener. The jaw unit was fed with 600mm x 600mm blasted rock to produce a –3in output, which was fed into the cone crusher to produce a –24mm material. This, in turn, was fed to the S190 triple-deck screener to deliver four products ranging from +22mm oversize to –12mm fines.

The second demonstration area featured a J45 jaw crusher feeding crushed aggregate into an R155 reclaimer. The jaw unit was fed with –500mm material to produce a –4in output. This was fed into the screener, which stockpiled three products ranging from +80mm to –30mm fines.

McCloskey’s powerful new compact crushers – the I34R recirculating impact crusher and the J35 jaw crusher – were showcased in the third demonstration area at the quarry. Nimble enough to move around in tight spaces, these new crushers are easily transported from site to site and are particularly well suited to applications including aggregates, construction and demolition, and recycling.

Kirwan Barr, director of Australian dealers MSC Group, noted: ‘We thoroughly enjoyed the event. The quarry demo was a perfect showcase of McCloskey equipment in action, particularly the performance of the new compact crushers.

‘The factory tours highlighted the attention to detail and superior workmanship we have come to expect from McCloskey, and the presentations during the Dealer Forum were very informative and educational.’

Steve Walls, McCloskey International’s sales director, said: ‘We are deeply appreciative of the opportunity King Bros. gave us to demonstrate our equipment at their quarry. Perfect weather combined with this perfect venue made the event a resounding success on every level.

‘We extend our sincere thanks to them as well as to all those who joined us; we were delighted with the turnout. The demonstrations coupled with the Dealer Forum have set a new model for us to assist dealers in developing and delivering high-productivity solutions for customers.’

More than 27 McCloskey dealerships attended the event, representing 21 countries where McCloskey equipment is sold.
