Leicester-based independent supplier launches new cementitious, quick-drying, self-compacting screed

MAXI Readymix Concrete, an independent ready-mixed concrete and specialist screed supplier based in Leicester, have recently launched MaxiUltimate – a cement-based, quick-drying, self-compacting screed developed in house with the support of commercial partners.

Maxi Readymix director James Abraham explained how the product had under gone a number of revisions and rigorous testing to further enhance the final finish, workability window, flow and drying times.

‘Due to the demand for a faster-drying screed, we developed a cementitious product which has additional benefits for the application of floor coverings and is compatible for use with underfloor heating systems,’ he said.

‘MaxiUltimate can receive all floor finishes and, depending on drying conditions and depth, the drying time is 21–28 days. This is significantly lower than with anhydrite screeds. Another time-saving benefit is that no sanding is required to remove any surface laitance due to the cementitious qualities.’

According to Mr Abraham, the addition of MaxiUltimate to the company’s product range demonstrates a commitment not only to driving Maxi Readymix forward as a company, but also to enhancing their ready-mixed concrete product ranges for the future.

Maxi RMC opened their state-of-the-art Leibherr twin-shaft, wet batch plant in September 2014. The company currently has a fleet of 13 lorries, including minimix vehicles, 8-wheelers, tippers and artics, with two more new vehicles due to arrive later this month.
